How we do it
The appliance is dismantled only as far as it safely allows.
Oven cleaning is quoted from the appliance, not the kitchen. We ask whether it is a single oven, double oven, range or AGA-style unit, and whether extra trays, racks or separate grill cavities are included. The appliance must be switched off and cool before work begins. Model details and photographs help us anticipate removable parts, self-cleaning liners or door designs that should not be taken apart during a cleaning appointment.
The cleaner protects the nearby floor and working surface, then removes only components designed for routine removal. Racks and trays are treated separately while loose crumbs and dry carbon are collected from the cavity. Degreasing product is allowed controlled contact time rather than being spread onto heating elements, fans, seals or sensitive coatings. Scrapers and pads are selected for the surface so that glass, enamel and metal are not treated as though they have the same tolerance.
Door glass receives particular care. Accessible panes are cleaned, but a sealed multi-pane door is not dismantled unless the manufacturer has provided a safe user method and it was agreed beforehand. Catalytic or self-cleaning panels may retain permanent discolouration and can be damaged by ordinary oven chemicals. Failed seals, loose hinges, warning lights and electrical faults are maintenance issues; cleaning does not repair them, and the appliance is not tested as an engineer would test it.
After residue has been removed, components are rinsed, dried and returned to their correct positions. Any removable liners are returned in the orientation shown by the appliance manufacturer. Controls and the exterior are wiped without flooding gaps. The final review checks that no tool or cloth remains inside and that the surrounding area has been left tidy. Some historic carbon shadows may remain on aged surfaces even when they are clean. The handover distinguishes that permanent marking from removable grease and confirms when the oven can be used again.
